Responsibilities

  • Develops and oversees the implementation of the CTL strategic plan and budget
  • Provides instructional design consultancy
  • Consults with faculty on grants and project proposals
  • Promotes the scholarship of teaching and learning, faculty innovation, and instructional experimentation across the college and district
  • Assists faculty in the development of innovative and new curricula and pedagogy
  • Provides guidance to CTL staff and faculty on issues related to professional development, organizational learning, instructional innovation, and intra and inter-college communication
  • Plans and direct new CTL initiatives and directions
  • Consults with faculty and administration on teaching and learning issues, resources, and agendas
  • Provide support to faculty on their Faculty Evaluation Plans (FEP)
  • Represents MCC faculty at the District Curriculum Committee
  • Represents the CTL vision and mission on college and district committees and initiatives

Highlight Activities

  • Developed new vision, philosophy, and directions for the Center for Teaching and Learning
  • Assisted in the development of the New Faculty Experience and New Employee Orientation
  • Assisted in the development of the Residential Faculty and Adjunct Faculty Handbooks
  • Assisted in the development of TechConnect, a collaborative technology information resource online for the college
  • Assisted in the planning and development of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Red Mountain
  • Expanded the CTL mission to include staff and organizational development
  • Introduced CUPPA as an informal learning dialogue venue
