Our Course Management Learning System (WebCT) makes it easy to create grading forms (rubrics) that identify for your student exactly what criteria you will be using to evaluate your work. If you create a grading form for a particular assignment students will submit using the course management learning system (WebCT), it can be linked to the gradebook. The student sees the completed grading form, identifying how many points they got for each criteria you graded. They can see specifically why they earned that grade. This is a powerful learning tool.

Beth Alsen, of MCC's Educational Studies Department, has created a number of grading forms (rubrics) for her English as a Second Language education students. She agreed to share them with other faculty. She grants her permission to use them as is or edit them as you wish.
