My Initial Views on Information Literacy

Information Literacy is the vehicle that allows people to develop information power - ability to access and use information to accomplish tasks or meet personal needs.

Information Literacy FPLC Activities Experienced

We had several hands on experiences in Fall semester. We visited tutorials, read online articles and explored CTLpedia as well as Ning (though not during our sessions). For Spring 2008 I expect we will have more sessions perhaps reviewing the value of a specific tutorial, resource or site. My leaning for now is that we come to our meetings with 1 tool or concept that has captured our attention.

The resource could be a negative or positive example related to InfoLit. I think if we did some collective evaluations we might each then refine the criteria we're using in our work to locate and verify information tools that help students and all those in our communities of influence to know how and why they trust their information.
