Sumary: My project summary.
Information Literacy FPLC Background
An interdisciplinary team exploring standards, ideas, and activities concerning information literacy and critical thinking skills in higher education with a focus on the community college student.
My Goals and Hopes for my Information Literacy FPLC Experience
To involve faculty in information literacy activities that engage students, and alert all to the importance of critical thinking.
Information Literacy FPLC Activities Experienced
We first welcomed a host of activities (readings, discussions, power point presentations), then we took on a small classroom teaching project focused on retention through reading instruction. In my opinion, this was a good process.
Reflection on my Experience in Information Literacy FPLC
At some point we had to gather our thoughts about our mission, then when we found it, we created a good project which involved 10 class sessions. The process was rewarding, and I encourage other FPLC units to stay focused with one or two ideas or projects to obtain an outcome of excellent quality.
Final Reflection on Information Literacy in Teaching and Learning
The experience helped me with my team teaching and most important, it engaged student as we used multi-media resources. Hence, I will participate in other projects that advance student learning and teaching.
