Project Summary:The Podcast with the Professor pilot will provide monthly podcast interviews with a member of the MCC faculty. Interviews will focus on teaching and learning related projects conducted by the faculty member.

Project Goals
- Provide an opportunity for the CTL to model podcasting processes including content selection and delivery
- Provide teaching & learning resources to faculty
- Provide learning and professional growth for CTL staff related to a “cutting edge” technology
Current Status
Podcast with the Professor is supported by the CTL. Primary contact is Donna Gaudet, but several staff members can assist with questions. Wordpress is the open source blogging tool used to support not only this project but the CTL Blog as well.
Relation to CTL Department Plan Initiatives
- 2006-7 #6 CTL Innovative Instructional Technologies Program -- To provide effective support for teaching and learning with technology, CTL staff must explore, develop and experiment with promising new instructional technologies that have potential to enhance teaching and learning. These activities will allow us to recommend and support appropriate technologies to promote learning outcomes.
Project Staff
- Donna Gaudet is the main contact for the project and the host for each of the pilot sessions.
- Jeffrey Anderson maintains and manages the podcasting software utilized by the project (Podpress via WordPress Blog).
- James Bowles constructed the CTL theme for the WordPress blog template.
- Ken Costello takes photos of the podcast participants.

Project Resources
- Staff time has been required to install and maintain WordPress .
- Staff time has been require to conduct interviews and edit resulting audio files.
- WordPress tool is open source and freely available.
- Sever space is required for storing podcast files.
- iPod and microphone were used to record all sessions
- GarageBand (Mac) was used to edit all podcasts
