A course calendar is essential to a quality online course. A simple table, created with Word software, can work well. Click here for a sample calendar created with Word. Media:CalendarSampleTableB.doc

Before you upload your Word calendar, you'll want to save it as an htm or html file. Then your students can view the calendar using the browser of their choosing (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox). They won't need to have Microsoft Word software on their computer to view the calendar.

With your calendar open in Word, do a File>Save As. In the dialog box that opens, locate the box at the bottom that say "save as type". Use the pull-down menu available there to select "Webpage" or "Webpage filtered". Either option should work for you. Give this file a name you'll recognize as your newly saved option. Upload this file into your online course (such as WebCT).

An alternative is to create a Google calendar. To get detailed directions for this task, click on the back arrow to return to Help Resources on the CTLpedia. Under the letter C, select Create Google Calendar for Uploading into WebCT. YouTube also has a number of videos available that walk you through creating a Google calendar. You can use the YouTube search engine to locate them.
