Survey Data Overview [Question Number]
- [1] Exactly half of the respondents were adjunct faculty (99) and half were full-time (99).
- [2] Southern/Dobson was the most selected site (85%) with Red Mountain second (11%).
- [3] Workshops were the most selected faculty development opportunities (62%) with conferences/seminars second (30%) and peer consultation/mentoring third (23%).
- [4] Repeat offerings at different times would make faculty development opportunities in the CTL more attractive to 59% of respondents while online workshops (37%) and individualized instruction (30%) were also indicated as important.
- [5]The three most important incentives for participation in faculty development were: Increase in knowledge and insight (89%), improved skills (81%) and time to interact with colleagues (43%)
- [6] The two biggest factors keeping faculty from participating more in faculty development offered through the CTL were scheduling of activities (74%) and being too busy (54%).
- [7] Most participants agreed that CTL staff are accessible, help them to learn new technology, help them to learn more about computer applications related to teaching, CTL equipment is easy to use, and that they feel comfortable asking for help from CTL Staff. Most participants had no opinion on whether or not CTL staff helped them learn more effective pedagogy or effective learning strategies for students.
- [8] Respondents use the CTL at all times of the semester (beginning, middle, end), to help them develop new pedagogical skills and technology-based supplements for their classes. Most respondents had no opinion on their use of the CTL for conference presentations, development of grant proposals, and interaction with colleagues.
