Usage Tracking
From CTLpedia
Project Summary: CTL Usage Tracking, or Cluts project, is a web-application which allows the ctl employees to mark down who they interact with from outside the ctl. It gives the management in the CTL a clearer picture of how our resources are being used.

Project Goals
- System for usage tracking information.
Current Status
Cluts is feature complete and only receives small bug fixes and feature updates.
Relation to CTL Department Plan Initiatives
The CTL Usage tracking project gives the ctl feedback on how resources are working and being used so it essentially relates to all initiatives. It gives the CTL a means to measure success of a project.

- Innovative Instructional Technologies
Project Staff
- Martin Lehner develops and maintains the software as well as the server system it runs on.
- Other CTL staff provide design requirements, feedback, and bug testing & quality assurance.
Project Timeline
- Reskinned in mid 2006 by James Bowles along with the other CTL inhouse tools.
- Developed initially in 2004 after Melanie Kroening and Donna Gaudet began using some helpdesk software to track interactions with users. Martin saw the problems with the system for what the CTL needed it for and within a week had a new system to track interactions, though it took much longer than a week (roughly a year) to perfect the system to the best usable format for the users.
Project Resources
- Software development hours for Martin Lehner.
- System administration hours for Martin Lehner.
- Server space.
Project Outcomes and Future Directions
- Usage statistics about CTL resources.
- Future use of the system's data depends on statistical analysis hours by someone.
