This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to wikis, a web 2.0 technology that can be used for easily designing, producing, publishing, and editing web pages. Attend this workshop to gain an understanding of what wikis are, where you may obtain a free wiki accounts, and how you might use wikis to better facilitate teaching and learning.

After attending this workshop participants shall be able to:
- Describe the main elements of wiki tools.
- Set-up a free, web-based wiki accounts.
- Outline what wikis can do based on hands-on experience with the tool.
- Discuss reasons for using wikis to better facilitate teaching and learning and/or other work processes.
- Identify particular challenges common to incorporating wikis into courses.

Wiki Features
Wikis are websites that allow for collaboration between multiple authors to create content. Wikis can be public or private depending upon how they are set up. Wikis allow for linking and embedding of images, videos, and sound files. Wikis are often searchable, making them potentially complex, nested, multimodal documents.
