Project Summary: In July 2006 the CTL decided to redo the existing workshop registration system. The new system needed to be reliable, well designed, and easy to extend for changing requirements in the future.

Contents

Project Goals

  • LDAP authenticated for finer-grained user account control.
  • User accounts to store user information so it didn't have to be entered every time a user registered.
  • More robust history features for users and administrators.
  • Easily extended application infrastructure.
  • Well designed database backend.

Current Status

The workshop registration system (Regsys) is feature complete and is in use. A list of known issues and wishlist is below...

Known issues

  • If the email reminders fail then an internal exception is thrown and no information is returned to the user
  • The fields of some forms allow for blank input when valid in put should be required (account creation)

Todo Wishlist

  • Online evaluations
  • Pull user information directly from LDAP instead of having the user enter it
